This rocker was made in the style of renowned woodworker Sam Maloof. Even though I made this piece with the assistance of an instructor over the course of a semester, it remains one of the most challenging pieces of furniture I've ever done. It's constructed almost entirely of walnut, except for the use of some cherry strips in the rockers, and some ebony plugs to seal in the screws used where the legs attach to the crestrail and seat.
I would hate to part with this piece, but it just takes up too much space in my small livingroom. 
I doubt I will ever attempt another one of these, unless someone is interested in ordering an upholstered version.  Now that would be a challenge!
